Monday: Guided tour by an “upper class lady” of the 19th century
Theatrical guide “Mrs Amalie Sofie” will lead the way up the Karl Johan Street and voice her opinion about the development of Kristiania and all the new and impressive buildings en route, then further through the garden of the King’s Palace and into the district of Homansbyen, her “own” neighbourhood. She will proudly tell about architectural details and about everyday life, gossip, and scandals. To end the tour she leads you to Summit 21 for a hot beverage and one of the best views of the city.

Tuesday: City Hall and Akershus Fortress
The tour of the City Hall provides a detailed and exciting view of the history of Oslo. Walk to the 1300 century Akershus Fortress and along the ramparts where the guide will tell about Kings and Nobles, villains and ghosts. The tour ends with a hot beverage at Cafe Engebret.

Thursday: The Old City Hall/ Munch and Ibsen
Start with a 1000 years of Oslo’s history shown in a 15 minutes movie. When leaving the old City Hall we follow the quotes of Ibsen on the sidewalks, and visit the legendary Grand Cafe. Continue to Ibsen’s apartment and past the Royal Palace. We end the tour by visiting the National Gallery with focus on Edvard Munch’s early masterpieces.

Friday: Grünerløkka –Oslo’s“Notting Hill”
Grünerløkka is an old working-class district with it’s historical roots in trade and industry. And what kind of development will we see in this district in the future? Ends with a hot beverage at Aku-Aku Tikibar.

Saturday: The Vigeland Museum and Vigeland Sculpture Park
This walk is dedicated to Vigeland, his life and art. We start with a guided tour of the Museum. We continue to the park to look at his statues depicting the different stages of life. A guided tour of the park is a memorable experience.

We walk along the river from Nydalen to Kuba. On the way we pass waterfalls, cross bridges, hear about the industrial development, histories and the rough conditions of the factory workers.
