Town life and history
You can find cafés, restaurants, night clubs and good opportunities for shopping within a short walk of the hotel. You can also go swimming in Barentsbadet which has a water slide, toddler pool, therapy pool and more. Kirkenes is also a town which has a lot to offer in terms of culture and history. You can among other things visit Grenselandmuseet (The Borderland Museum), The Savio Museum, Andersgrotta or go sightseeing to the mines in Bjørnevatn.
Excursions and adventures
Kirkenes is known as the border town at 70°North, 30°East, and nature experiences and adventures are lined up: Try a king crab safari, snow scooter safari, dog sledging or ATV safari. Visit the reindeer- and husky park or Prestefjellet mountain with its magnificent view over the town. There are also good opportunities for fishing in the border river Jakobselva and in the fjord. The midnight sun during the summer, or the polar night and northern lights during the winter forms the backdrop in combination with the exotic landscape of Eastern Finnmark, where Norway, Russia and Finland meet.
