The writer Johan Bojer managed better than most to describe the conditions in Lofoten for than 100 years ago. These were strong and brutal depictions of the historical beginnings of the region: Fishing, survival and challenging weather conditions. We have sought to create a historical span from the age of when the bold fishermen challenged the sea to the modern cuisine and contemporary forms of expression.
