Group activities
Elverum is well suited for groups, teams and companies. You can do the following:
Moose watching tour
Elverum is surrounded by forest, and thus also the home of the king of the forest. On a moose safari with Finnskogen Adventure, you will be accompanied by an experienced guide and moose dog into Finnskogen’s nature to try to get close to the moose.
The tour lasts about three hours. On the way, you will learn more about moose hunting and be served moose snacks and a hot drink. You’re almost guaranteed to see traces of moose, but if the majesty itself shows up, it’s up to it.
Meetings are at Circle K Hernes, about a ten-minute drive from both Thon Hotel Elgstua and Thon Hotel Central.
Experience the magic of dancing birds
Together with Finnskogen Adventures, you can go out into the forest to experience the orphan’s and deer’s mating dance up close. The tour is led by experienced guides who also share knowledge about nature and wildlife in the area.
Tiur play can usually be experienced for a short period of time in April, while the peregrines play through large parts of the month. This is a nature experience a bit out of the ordinary, so remember the camera.
Fast-paced fun
At the Kremmertorget shopping centre in Leiret you will find the go-kart centre “Gokarten”, with an indoor course of 2,500 square metres. Here you can compete against friends, family, roommates and follow the lap times in a separate app.
If you want even more speed, you can head to Starmoen Motorsenter. It offers activities such as go-karting, rallying and car-cross - perfect for those who like a little extra excitement.
