Thon DISCOVERY points are earned exclusively at Thon Hotels, and not at other GHA member hotels.
You can check your bonus points balance by logging in to the Thon DISCOVERY website and clicking on “My Page”. The balance is updated once a day. Your bonus points will be shown in your balance no later than 48 hours after check-out.
Yes, not to worry. All we need is your valid Thon DISCOVERY membership number.
As a Thon DISCOVERY and GHA Discovery member, you will receive relevant information about special offers, customised to your needs and habits. This information will be sent out in separate newsletters from each programme. Should you wish to cancel your newsletter subscription, you can do so using the unsubscribe link in the body of the newsletter e-mail or by updating your preferences on “My Page”. This will not cancel your membership; it will merely change your e-mail preferences. If, for example, you no longer wish to receive the GHA newsletter, you can still receive the Thon DISCOVERY newsletter, because these are two separate programmes with separate newsletter subscriptions.
The newsletter from Thon DISCOVERY will still be in Norwegian, whilst GHA Discovery’s will be in English. As a Thon DISCOVERY member, however, you will see that the newsletter carries the Thon Hotels logo.
Although First Hotels is also a GHA member, Thon DISCOVERY points can only be earned and used at Thon Hotels. However, your stays at First Hotels and at all other GHA member hotels will be included in the tally of the number of nights you have spent in eligible hotels. This will allow you to upgrade to a higher membership level, even when you are travelling abroad.
Current members who registered prior to 20 May 2014 will receive new membership numbers upon confirmation that they also wish to become GHA members. As soon as you agree to become a GHA Discovery member, you will receive a welcome e-mail with further information.

Local Experiences are unique local activities or perks to which you are entitled when you are a Platinum or Black level member. They are customised to reflect the best aspects of the place where you are staying, and are intended to make your stay even more memorable.
Local Experiences are earned whenever your membership is upgraded to Platinum or Black, on renewal of your membership, or when you stay at another GHA member hotel.
You can take advantage of Local Experiences at all GHA hotels, with the exception of Thon Budget hotels.
You can choose when and where you wish to take advantage of your Local Experience. However, keep in mind that your Platinum level experience is valid for 18 months, and Black level experiences expire after 24 months.
Yes. As a Thon DISCOVERY and GHA Discovery member, you can earn SAS EuroBonus points. You can choose whether you want Thon DISCOVERY points or 500 EuroBonus points per night. You can also use your EuroBonus points to earn free nights in our hotels. Find out more on the SAS EuroBonus website.

Yes, you must use your bonus points within three years of the date you earned them. After three years, the points will expire and therefore can no longer be redeemed. When you redeem your bonus points, we use your oldest points first.

A gift card for a weekend hotel stay costs 10,000 bonus points.
No, bonus points are only earned if you yourself stay in the room as an overnight guest.
Yes, you can cancel bookings made using bonus points and we will refund your points to your account. The refunded points will still carry the original expiry date linked to their initial date of earning.
Trips booked using bonus points must be taken prior to the expiry date of the bonus points.
No, the minimum amount you can take out for a bonus stay is 7,500 points.
