Four simple and effective exercises you can do at home

Want to get started with home workouts? Ingrid Moe Wold plays football for the Norwegian women's national team, and is a trained physiotherapist. Here she will show you some exercises that you can do at home.

Get fit with home workouts

To exercise at home, you don't need a lot of equipment. You can use pouffes, benches, chairs or other furniture with a little height.

Exercise 1: Step-up and Bulgarian lunges

The first exercise is a combination of step-up and Bulgarian lunges. Do 3 sets of 10-15 repetitions on each leg.

"What I like about this exercise is that you train both the front and back of the thighs," Ingrid says.

Exercise 2: Push-ups

The second exercise is called push-ups. The exercise can be carried out in different ways depending on how difficult you want the exercise to be. Either on a flat surface, or with arms or legs placed on a piece of furniture.

"The most important thing to think about is that you pull in your core and tighten your belly so that you don't arch your back," Ingrid explains.

Do 3 sets of 10 repetitions at a time. The exercise is great for exercising chest, arms and stabilization muscles in the back and abdomen.

Exercise 3: Chair dips

Chair dips exercises the muscles on the back of the upper arm, also called triceps or bingo wings.

Hold on to the edge of the chair, keep your legs stretched out and make sure your elbows are close to your body. Lower your body downward and raise up 10 times and repeat 3 times.

If you find this exercise too difficult, bend your knees and do the same so that you distribute the load a little more evenly.

Exercise 4: Bridge

All you need for this exercise is something to put your feet on. You should keep your legs fairly straight, raise your hips as high as you can and squeeze the glutes for 2-3 seconds in this position.

Well done! One of the best things about exercising is the good conscience afterwards, and whether you are exercising at home or in the hotel room, it is only a short walk to the bed or sofa.
