Picturesque motorcycle route from Halden to Skeikampen
It’s no secret that Norway has spectacular nature. Many motorcycle enthusiasts think it’s best experienced on two wheels. Feel the wind in your helmet and enjoy the freedom off the open road as you set off on a motorcycle journey from Halden to Skeikampen.
Motorcycle route in Norway: Halden – Oslo – Asker – Ål – Skeikampen
The route takes you through woods, fjords and mountain landscapes, with little traffic and lots of winding roads. Along the way, you pass through both small towns and bigger cities - with plenty of stops for food, experiences and overnight stays.
Halden and Villmarksveien in Østfold
Start your trip in Halden in the very southeast of Norway. From here you can take county road 21 along the Swedish border towards Ørje. The road runs through large wooded areas and offers a completely different experience than along the more trafficked E6 motorway.
Along the way, you can stop at Fredriksten Fortress, where you can learn about Norwegian border history. The tour continues along Haldenvassdraget and past the fortifications at Ørje from the late 1800s.

Oslo - experience the capital
From Ørje, the journey continues towards Oslo via Bjørkelangen and Fetsund. The capital has everything from museums and restaurants to parks and viewpoints.

Asker and Hurumlandet

Many motorcyclists also like to drive through Hurumlandet, where you pass places like Sætre and Holmsbu. Here you’ll find small harbours, beaches and cafés that are perfect for a break.

Hallingdal - the road to the mountains
The journey from Oslo to Ål in Hallingdal normally takes around three hours, but you can choose a more scenic route.
The E134 motorway takes you through places such as Vrådal, Dalen, Rauland and Tunhovd before reaching Hallingdal. The route offers a varied landscape with mountains, woods and lakes.

The last stop is Skeikampen, a classic mountain destination north of Lillehammer.
