Your safety is our priority

With conference hotels situated all over Norway, we've got meeting and conference facilities in variable sizes that may be adjusted to your needs. Safety for our guests and hotel staff is very important to us. That is why we have now introduced new routines for conferences and meetings at all our hotels.

We'd like to clarify the current rules for conducting conferences and christmas dinners after new national covid measures were presented 19 of January 2021: 

  • Max amount of participants on a event, meeting, conference etc. is at maximum 100 people with fixed designated seats indoors. This also include our restaurants.
  • You can have several events of a maximum of 100 at the same hotel, but events can not be crossed at any time.
  • It is allowed to serve alcohol for events until 22:00, as long as food is also served.
  • Other infection control measures such as a distance of 1 meter, etc. are still valid.

20 participants

  • When the event is defined as private gathering, 20 participants are allowed. For example ceremonies, funerals, friendly gatherings, weddings or sport events. 

Infection control measures at conferences

  • Injunction on the use of face masks when staying in the conference area (in chosen municipalities)
  • Injunction on the use of face masks indoors at restaurants, in all situations where you're not sitting by a table. (in chosen municipalities)
  • There's a national bar stop 22:00, and the must be out of the room by 00:30. 
  • Admission of new guests shall not take place after 22:00. 
  • There are hand disinfection stations at the entrance to all premises.
  • The meeting rooms are thoroughly cleaned, and all table surfaces, chairs and other equipment are disinfected.
  • We use large premises that make it possible to maintain a distance of at least 1 metre between every meeting participant.
  • Contact points such as door handles, coffee machines and lift buttons are washed and disinfected several times a day.
  • Buffets of energising break food such as fruit, smoothies and sweets will be set up in a way that maximises infection control.  Naturally, coffee, tea and mineral water will also be available at all times.
  • Our conference hosts are ready to assist you throughout the event.
  • Each event must have a responsible organiser (this is the orderer’s responsibility) who has an overview of the persons in attendance, with the names and contact info of all participants.

Good food is an important ingredient in the recipe for a successful conference, and dinner is often a social highlight of a course, kick-off or conference. That’s why we work hard to ensure that the food we serve is of the highest quality, and our skilled chefs have prepared menus based on local specialties, using delicious Norwegian ingredients.

Infection control measures during food service

  • Mandatory to use a face mask when moving in the conference area (applies to hotels and restaurants in Oslo and Bergen).
  • There are hand disinfection stations at the entrance to the restaurant.
  • Tables are washed and disinfected between each group of guests, and other contact surfaces are cleaned frequently.
  • We ensure that there is a distance of at least 1 metre between each table.
  • Event participants can enjoy lunch service at tables in the restaurant or in their meeting room. Buffet service will be available to groups of more than 50 people.
  • In keeping with the health authorities’ recommendations, we follow strict hygiene measures and procedures for our employees.

At Thon Hotels, we know that our guests are keen to enjoy a good breakfast as part of their hotel stay. We also want to ensure the safety of our guests and employees. That’s why we’re introducing new breakfast routines – which facilitate good infection control measures while still offering a wide range of breakfast options.

Breakfast buffet

We’re pleased to re-introduce our tasty breakfast buffet, which features a good selection of cold and hot dishes. Please note that we cannot set up the buffet unless at least 20 guests are staying at the hotel.

Wherever you visit us, rest assured that you will be able to choose from a wide variety of our popular breakfast favourites.

Order from the chef

In selected hotels, our breakfast chef will take your order from the open kitchen. Just say what you want to eat and our chef will put it on your plate.

Here you can choose your favourite dishes from our buffet breakfast – various sandwich toppings, fresh vegetables, and the classic hot dishes such as scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, bacon and American pancakes.

Pre-portioned bowls of yoghurt, sliced fruit, granola, smoothies and some sweets will also be on offer – so you can easily add to your breakfast plate according to your wishes.

Allergy-adapted selection

If you have any allergies, we will do our very best to assist you in finding good options that fit your needs. Simply inform one of our staff when you arrive in the breakfast room.

Concepts for any event on any scale

To ensure adherence to the guidelines about maintaining a distance of at least 1 metre between each participant, we have adapted our premises and temporarily reduced capacity by 50%. View all our conference facilities here.
