Only your imagination sets the limits when it comes to what can be mixed in a smoothie. If you want to be on the safe side, follow these three recipes. Then you are guaranteed a real boost.

1. Good morning smoothie

In this smoothie recipe, there is a touch of cinnamon that will give your day a warm and good start. Use your favourite yogurt and your favourite berries.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 0.5 bag frozen berries
  • 2 tbsp yogurt
  • 200 – 300 ml apple juice
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon

Method: Peel the banana and cut into pieces. Put the banana, frozen berries and yogurt in a blender. Pour over the apple juice until it covers the contents. Add cinnamon and mix at full speed for a few minutes.

Tips! For an extra healthy smoothie, add a teaspoon of chia seeds. Chia seeds contain a number of nutrients such as antioxidants, omega-3 and calcium.

2. Sunshine yellow smoothie

The sun is an eternal source of energy, it should be possible to take a sip of it. This smoothie is the closest thing we can get, full of energy.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oranges
  • 1 banana
  • 0.5 bag frozen mango
  • A small bulb of ginger

Method:
Peel the oranges, use a knife to remove as much white skin as possible. Peel the banana and cut into pieces. Put the fruit and ginger in a blender and blend on full blast for a minute or two.

Tips! Fruits and vegetables vary in size, and a smoothie will often have a different consistency than you wanted. Add juice or milk if smoothie is too mushy and banana or avocado if it is too runny.

3. Friskus smoothie

In this smoothie there is spinach, but you can also use peppers or broccoli. Either way, it will get you ready for a new day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kiwi
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 handful of spinach (preferably frozen)
  • 200 – 300 ml apple juice
  • 1 dash of lime

Method: Peel the kiwi and cut into pieces. Cut the avocado in half, remove the stone and scrape out the avocado flesh. Place the kiwi and avocado in a blender and add the spinach and the dash of lime. Pour over the apple juice until it covers and blend.

Tips! For a sweeter version of the Friskus smoothie, swap the kiwi for half a banana and omit the lime juice. Just as green and just as good!
