Welcome to LYST Lofoten Sauna

LYST Lofoten Sauna is located on a the floating jetty in front of Thon Hotel Svolvær, with a view towards the Vestfjord and the mountains, it consists of two saunas «Gran» and «Aurora», a women's and a men's wardrobe, both with hot water shower and a toilet. Book your session before you arrive, maximum of 9 days in advance. LYST Lofoten Sauna is an unmanned sauna.

When you smell the aroma of our freshly baked bread, or dip the croissant into a delicious cappuccino, you should be able to close your eyes and dream of both Italy and France. When you open your eyes again, you can look out on Lofoten’s magnificent scenery, whether it’s a beautiful sunrise or the dancing northern lights.

Reception of fresh fish

Start the day on an authentic fishing boat, hunt for cod in the Lofoten sea. When you come back to the hotel, you hoist the fish ashore and learn how to fillet your own catch. You end the day with the «taste of Lofoten» in the hotel's restaurant.

For us, sustainability and locally produced ingredients are not only important, but also very exciting. From the idea of creating a small greenhouse for herbs, we have now further developed the idea to make a full-scale greenhouse on the roof of the hotel. Vegetables, salads and herbs will germinate and grow all year round.
