In the privacy policy you will find information about what personal data is being collected, why it is being collected, what it is being used for, what legal basis there is and what rights you have as a member of THON+.

The purpose of the THON+ loyalty programme is to offer members benefits and bonus points at our THON hotels and with our partners.

What personal data do we collect?

When registering with THON+, the following personal data are registered: name, date of birth, full address, date of registration, country, gender, e-mail address and telephone number. This personal data is provided by you. THON + will then assign the membership number which is linked to the member profile. THON+ members can voluntarily register other information on "My Page" or in our app.

For the registration and calculation of stays and bonus points, THON+ will register the aforementioned personal data in addition to hotel stay (incl. hotel name, date of stay, rate, price code, where the accommodation is booked, reason for stay, any preferences related to the stay, etc.). This information is included in the membership profile and is necessary to calculate and award bonus points and qualifying nights.

If necessary, THON+ will also be able to collect and register personal data from other sources, such as contact information from the National Population Register and information from our partners in the loyalty programme.

What do we use your personal data for?

The main purpose of the THON+ collection, registration and processing of personal data is to manage, administer, deliver and follow up the membership of THON+ in the best possible way. For example, your personal data is used in connection with:

  • Registration of bonuses and stays
  • Managing your data in accordance with applicable membership terms and benefits
  • Customising communication about your stays and your membership benefits
  • Providing services in connection with the membership
  • Analysis and development
  • Sales/marketing

How long do we store your personal data?

Personal data will only be stored for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose of the processing or statutory obligations we have. Personal data processed in connection with THON+ will be deleted upon cancellation, with the exception of personal data that is considered to be accounting material subject to storage in accordance with the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act. This information will be stored for five years to comply with the statutory storage obligation. Information about preferences/interests can be changed at any time via "My Page".

Use of data processors

We enter into data processing agreements with all companies that process personal data on our behalf. Our data processors may not process your personal data in any other way than what is agreed with us and described in this privacy policy. For THON+, data processors are used to operate some of the necessary IT systems, as well as consulting and technical assistance. The data relating to THON+ is stored within the EU/EEA.

Disclosure of personal data

We only provide personal data to THON+'s partners when it is necessary to fulfil the agreement, such as calculating your bonus points or fulfilling your bookings. You can see an overview of THON+'s partners here.

Communication and consent

As a member of THON+, you will receive emails, mail, prompts and texts with information relevant to managing your membership. We do this to fulfil our part of the membership agreement.

Like most other businesses, we have a legitimate interest in marketing our services. Thon Hotels also uses the information for marketing through other digital channels, such as Facebook and Google.

If you consent to receive marketing information from us, we will send you relevant information and offers by email, text, post and prompts. In addition, you can update your membership profile yourself with interests and preferences related to the hotel experience. This information is included in the membership profile and is used to tailor relevant offers to you as a member.
